fibrepoint Ltd was founded in 2007 with the aim of developing an optical structured cabling system for the home that would assist telecommunication companies in the delivery of their services and make high speed broadband a practical reality.

The original concept required a back-up power supply to maintain the telephony service in the event of a mains power failure, but as we developed this idea, we quickly realised the many benefits of having primary low voltage DC power supply running in parallel with both our optical data network and the mains electrical system.

Using a small development team and working with some of the leading companies in the field, we have created a unique concept that draws together a number of disparate technologies and offers a new way to deliver power and data to the home. This has developed into the DC48 Standard which describes how these systems can work together.

At fibrepoint we believe in harnessing technology to create a better world and we understand the need to use less energy but also increase our data speeds so our engineers have developed a unique way for one to control the other.

By designing and creating new devices for an ever changing technological environment we focus on producing consumer friendly products that assist in the delivery of digital services within buildings whilst, at the same time, considering the vital requirements for clean, renewable energy and energy security.

Our alliance strategy is focused on the development of complete solution packages that offer maximum value to end users including, not only the consumer, but also retailers, electrical and data installers, architects, builders and building owners.
